Very well. Splitting the cost should make it a more economical investment.

[ Now, about my ugly room– ]

You are curious about Vulcan culture? Or still concerned that I will become weak and unable to function here.

Your concern is unfounded. I will not allow my faculties to decline, and you therefore have no cause for alarm.

I cannot say what I will and will not tell you until I have read the questions themselves.

As with most things, there are similarities and there are differences.

In terms of the physical, the average temperature of Vulcan is over thirty degrees Celsius above the average temperature of Earth, and the arrangement of the cities is far more orderly and based upon a strict aesthetic ideal.

Culturally, however, Vulcans place an emphasis on homogeneity and on service, while humanity champions individualism and personal gratification.

Which do you believe more closely resembles your world?

In my travels and interactions with others I have found that it is too hot for most.

[ Yes. Yes, I am freezing, thank you for noticing. I was cold yesterday, I'm cold today, I'll be COLD TOMORROW. ]

You discount your credentials but here you are thus far the primary expert on Roshar. It may remain that way for some time. I would hear you speak of it more often and in greater detail, in particular the religion that guides your people.

As for Vulcan, science is prized highly but it is not the most common profession. Instead, most Vulcans at some point in their lives serve in the political sphere, in public office. This is to encourage engagement with societal betterment.

As of yet I have not, though I have been a Vulcan representative within a human-dominated organization in an unofficial capacity. One day I will perhaps do more. My planet benefits from the involvement of its people, but that does not mean we should turn a blind eye to others in need.

You spoke of divides within your culture. On what basis are these divides established?

So it is physiological.

[ Though by Kaladin's own estimation, arbitrary. A position no doubt more easily assumed by a member of the discriminated population but he has seen the marginalized representatives of other species struggle to come to the same sense of self that Kaladin already seems to possess. ]

Such a difference would be considered without meaning in my culture, though you must have already ascertained as much. [ Which might as well be Spock for "what are the odds". ]

"Struggle" has variable definitions. I often face internal and external conflicts and the opportunities to address them. Some are more easily reconciled than others, and in some it is difficult to find a lesson. [ That can be the hardest part. Desperate to find meaning in his challenges, and being left with nothing but the challenge itself. ]
