I require identification because I want to verify I have reached my intended contact without potentially giving his name or information away to a third party.
I have called you neither. Your attitude suggests, however, that you see my observations of singular incidents to be indictments of your qualifications as a whole.
[ Is it a question? More aptly it's an open door, an opportunity for Kaladin to share more of himself if he so chooses, and now it's been left ajar with a simple challenge back. Is Spock willing to apply pressure to his new acquaintance, to attempt to pull him through so early into their relationship?
He knows the answer almost immediately. ]
There is nothing I wish to ask.
And my intentions have not changed. Are they still illuminated?
( that's what i thought, he thinks bitterly. not fair, not sensible, but his thoughts haven't been since arriving. )
Yes and they'll stay this way for at least a couple more days I'm in revelation 009 when you decide to come fetch them I wanted to warn you now that the rate of storm light leakage depends on the size of the gem within Some may go dun faster than others You have less than a week before they're all out
It was hasty on my part to assert I had no questions. Regarding these spheres of yours, I have several. It is natural to assume I will have more as time goes on, as well.
Will you answer? Much of what I have to ask will require you to share knowledge of your world.
You can ask what you want and I'll choose how to respond I think that's only fair considering we're yet strangers I'll warn you now though that none of my answers may be helpful to you
Are you from a version of Earth or another planet like me I can tell you're not human by the look of you
I agree. It is your right to refuse to answer any of my questions. First, can you describe the storms on your planet?
As for myself, I was born and raised on the planet Vulcan. I am familiar with Earth and its history, although we appear not only to be in an alternate timeline to the one with which I am accustomed, but a different reality altogether.
The storms here sound mild in comparison Highstorms of Roshar come every few days from the origin in the east and are a destructive force It's almost impossible to survive one as you can imagine you'd be sliced up by debris or crushed by boulders lifted by its gales They infuse our spheres with their energy Stormlight I mentioned it the other day
( the cosmere appears to be vast... can't it hold another celestial body in it? like the moons in the sky? too grounded, kaladin can't begin to comprehend the scope. it frightens him, puts him on edge.
will they ever be able to return home? )
I think you're the first person I've met truly alien to this place So you must understand me Spock There are different Earths and we talk about timelines and different realities Couldn't it be possible we're simply displaced and not further flung than that That Vulcan and Roshar are distant but accessible

I was correct, as I expected. You may resume your previous activities.

Nothing I have said, Captain Kaladin, seems to warrant your reply. Are you attempting to insult me?

I figured I should try to give it back
No I don't feel any better for it

And maybe I was incapable of doing it myself
You're underestimating me nonetheless
I have to be better than what people see me as
Far better

My intention was not to underestimate you, and I believe that your intention is not to harm or insult me.
However, it seems you are troubled by other matters.

If there's a question in there ask it plain
All that really matters is I'll be prepared to take action in the next monster attack
Were you still intent on studying my spheres
